Marty is the managing member of NRE Property Group, a boutique commercial real estate brokerage, development and advisory firm serving the Upstate of South Carolina.  NRE is located next door to City Hall on Main Street, where all the action begins. The City of Greenville has been instrumental in creating a city that is now recognized and ranked among America’s Best Cities. Marty brings over 3 decades of experience, transacting in all asset classes including multi-family, retail, office, land, and industrial.

Marty spent the first half of his career working with some of the largest retail chains and developers with site acquisition, project leasing, development, and disposition.  He served as State Chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) for two terms and has served on numerous boards and committees focused on City and County economic development, including The Upstate Alliance.  He has successfully completed leasing and development of over 1,000,000 square feet of commercial space and has aided in the sale or acquisition of thousands of acres of prime unimproved land which today is fully developed.  More recently, Marty has represented and assisted major developers with site selection, entitlements, acquisitions and development of some of the most successful mixed-use and multifamily developments in the area. He has also advised numerous clients on strategies to help facilitate local support for complex development applications.  

Marty has been in the commercial real estate industry since 1987 when he joined The Furman Company in Greenville (now CBRE) and served in production, leadership and development roles with the company for nearly 15 years. Marty helped grow the company into a powerhouse agency, the top CRE firm in the Upstate, assisting some of the largest private, public and institutional clients.  His strong background and experience on driving measurable, integrated solutions for the company and its clients, enabled Marty to break out on his own in 2000 to offer his clientele a higher focused approach to portfolio/asset management, investments and development.   He has represented many investors, companies and developers in all aspects of real estate. Paramount to Marty’s success is his ability to communicate, place his clients’ needs first and effectively implement strategic project goals. Marty has long emphasized that working with people you enjoy being around is the icing on the cake.
